BC TEAL 2024: Integrating Multiple Lenses in TEAL for our Changing World

NEWS UPDATE

As many of you know, there is a protest currently taking place at UBC. We have been assured by UBC that the protest is peaceful and it will not impact our event. We are monitoring the situation closely and will report back any details if the situation changes.

THINGS TO BRING

We've got you covered for most things at the conference including morning coffee at 9:15 AM and snacks & lunch, but it would be helpful to bring some comfy shoes. We are going to be moving up and down all four floors of the Angus building so you want to make sure your feet are happy! And while we will have some swag pens and notebooks on hand, it’s always a good idea to bring along your own, as well as any chargers for your phone or portable device. There is free guest wifi on site, and water refill stations on each floor (bring your water bottle). If you’re a presenter, definitely don’t forget to bring your laptop with a charger! Finally, don’t forget to bring a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and get ready to have lots of fun.

LOCATION AND  DIRECTIONS

The BC TEAL 2024 Annual conference will be held at the Henry Angus building at UBC. The exact address is: 2053 Main Mall, Vancouver and you can find a map here.

CLASSROOM DIRECTIONS:

PARKING:
For parking, the closest parking lots are the West Parkade and the Fraser River Parkade.

GAGE HOTEL:
For directions from the Gage Hotel to the Angus building, this is a 10 minute walk.

THE NEST:
Lunch will be provided with your ticket. The Friday Lunch and the Friday Pearson reception will be hosted off-site at the NEST which is a 5 minute walk from the Angus building. Saturday lunch will be held at the main foyer (CPA Hall) of the Angus building.

VOLUNTEERS:
BC TEAL Event staff will be on-site to help with directions and questions. They will be wearing a white BC TEAL shirt.

PHOTOGRAPHER:
BC TEAL will have a professional photographer on site to take photographs of the event. If you do not wish to be included in any photography, you can opt-out when you arrive.
