This session addresses the affordances of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) for EAL new academic writers. Three applications will be discussed: as a research assistant, a phraseology search engine, and a text organization analysis tool.Some suggestions to raise learners’ awareness about GenAI risks and limitations will also be discussed.
